Attended UofA immediately after graduation. No summer rest. Enrolled in the College of Nursing and attended for 3 1/2years. Unfortunately, did not graduate.
However, I used the knowledge I received to work for a computer company who processed medical information to produce comprehensive medical records for the Indian Health Service and the State of Alaska.
The business closed after 13 years in the industry and I went to work for a short time for Pima Community College, to instruct students in terminology, ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding. Pima College had a contract to train students with the
intention of hiring them to process insurance claims.
I then worked for a cable company for 12 years as their call center manager until it was purchased by a larger company.
29 years with Desert Diamond Casino, belonging to the Tohono O’Odham tribe as a Host in their Player Development Department.
There was a time I would be reprimanded for standing around talking to people – now I get paid for it! I love my job!
Considering retirement 2022.
Twenty-six years ago, I married a man (Michael Bruce) who also went to Palo Verde and graduated in the same year, but because the class was so large, we did not know each other then. What a small world!w
